The Sika Foundation App is now live, with big thanks to Ben Robertson, and available to download for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play. With the app, hunters can submit information on the Sika deer they harvest in the Central North Island. The data is used for conservation purposes, to better understand and monitor the herd.
One of our objectives is to actively manage the central North Island Sika herd in order to provide enhanced benefits to hunters and a higher level of protection for the forests and grasslands in which they live.
The data submitted adds value to our deer management programme, and eventually to a healthier Sika herd. The app is a game changer for our data collection programme. Become a Sika Manager, not just a Sika Consumer.
